Francium is a frustrated, ambitious, mild-mannered alchemist searching for a cure for his people. He also really likes girls, but can't talk to them to save his life.

Riker was on board his brother's ship, when the vessel shrouded in extreme fog. Unable to see, the captain collided with an unseen obstacle and the ship tossed her passengers overboard. Riker woke up on the shores of Parai, in a daze, where he wandered until finding Francium. Francium promptly introduced himself as a man of science and knowledge, who was searching the land for ingredients. He told Riker to follow him to Andalusst, because if his family survived, that's where they end up.
